Elaine earned her Masters Degree in Teaching from Columbia University where she remains an Honors Society member. Elaine is well versed in the Common Core for all elementary grades and specializes in K-12 reading. During her 30 year teaching career, she chaired the Middletown New Jersey School District Reading Program and earned her certificate in the Orton-Gillingham Reading. Method. She also tutors the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) and the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT). Elaine loves tutoring and sincerely cares about each student’s academic success.

Matthew is a graduate from Cal State University of Monterey Bay and has Bachelor’s degree with a focus in teaching. For the last few years, he has worked as both a teacher’s assistant and a tutor for multiple schools, each with a different economic background. He has a great reputation when it comes to working and helping students, especially ones who have a hard time studying. He is passionate about working with elementary and middle school students and helping them grasp a better understanding of mathematics.
Mary is studying computer science at El Camino College, with the goal of a career in artificial intelligence and assistive technology. She is Vice Chair of her school’s student chapter of ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), which organizes peer-led workshops and other educational events on and off campus. Mary is passionate about helping students develop foundational skills in problem-solving and computational thinking which will improve their comprehension in any math or science class. On her own time, she programs primarily in C++, and is also proficient in Java. Mary Kelly also tutors in all levels of Math Algebra and below.
Cynthia graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills with a Bachelors of Science in Math with a concentration in Education. She has a single subject credential in math and have 6 years of teaching experience with high school students in Algebra, Pre-Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, College Ready Math, and Financial Math . Prior to teaching, she worked for the City of Los Angeles as an Internship Coordinator providing internships to both high school and college students. In addition, Cynthia has 10 years experience tutoring students ranging from elementary to college in all subjects of math including test prep for the SAT, ACT, and Entry Level Math (ELM) Prep. Cynthia is passionate about inspiring a love of math in her students and helping them to appreciate its value in their daily life.
Vanessa holds an A.A. in General Science and attends California State University- Dominguez Hills, currently obtaining her B.S. in Biochemistry. Vanessa is an aspiring High School Chemistry teacher having 5 years of experience specializing in introductory college Chemistry, high school Chemistry, and AP High School Chemistry. She has experience with assisting students of all ages to conquer their academic goals. Vanessa believes in empowering students with effective study skills while providing a friendly environment for students to openly ask questions. She has a true passion for her teaching and finds great satisfaction with assisting students excel in their own academic endeavors.
Sheryl graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts. She has 16 years experience working with students in Special Education at the elementary and middle school level. Sheryl has extensive experience working with students on many levels of the Autism Spectrum, ADHD/ADD, varying levels of of learning disabilities and behaviors. She is very patient, friendly and excels at building a relationship with her students so they look forward to their lesson and/or doing homework with her. Sheryl especially loves working with students who struggle with reading skills, reading comprehension and writing as these skills are crucial to all parts of the education process. Sheryl has also been trained in the Orton Gillingham method. She wants her students to gain confidence as their ability increases. In addition, Sheryl is a Southern California native and has enjoyed living and raising her three sons in the South Bay for 24 years.
