Produced by Sketchers and the Friendship Circle, this annual event is one in which I have participated in for the last 5 years as a South Bay resident. It is sponsored by MBEF, RBEF, and ED as well as other organizations/businesses in the South Bay community.
Participants begin the walk at the Manhattan Beach pier and walk to the Hermosa pier and back in an effort to unite and support children and young adults with special needs. The walk encourages compassion and acceptance among children, teens, and adults as well as promotes community awareness, sensitivity and unity. You can register at:
There are opportunities to walk or to volunteer at the event. As a special educator, I look forward to this event every year! Hope you will be a part of it.
